The Armatec IED & Mine protection system is an occupant centric, modular and scalable package that is fully integrated into the vehicles composition, and any additional survivability systems. Using rugged, lightweight composite materials, the IEDMPM protects crew members from the various impacts of an IED or mine blast as the loads become distributed throughout the vehicles mass, allowing for the absorption and isolation of blast energy. The IEDMPM has protection of STANAG Level 4a/3b including artillery fragmentation protection and is scalable up to levels above STANAG Level 4a/4b including large ANFO type blasts. This system has been tested and fielded on the LAV platform.
The IEDMPM primary roles are as follows:
Armatec provides the Canadian Forces and allied militaries with holistic survivability solutions for both wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles. Since its founding in 1997, Armatec’s distinctive engineering philosophy has delivered significantly improved crew protection and vehicle survivability without compromising mission effectiveness or equipment sustainability.
