Add on Armour (AOA)






The Armatec AOA crew survivability system has been designed and developed to address the combination of blast loads and fragmentation threats from an improvised explosive device (IED), as well as kinetic energy from ballistic threats.
Armatec’s Add on Armour is a lightweight, composite and ceramic solution which structurally reinforces vehicle base hull and provides modular and scalable ballistic protection from Level 1 up to Level 5 STANAG 4569 AED-55 Vol.1, without compromising vehicle mobility.

Additionally, Armatec’s Add on Armour provides protection for:

  • Close proximity IED fragmentation protection
  • Kinetic energy ballistic threats
  • Side IED blasts
  • Wheel and track-well IED blasts
  • Simultaneous multi-hit events of random fragment sizes and impact distributions
  • Blast loadings due to proximity of the threats
